Golf

There are several courses in the immediate area which will suit all abilities. There should be a magazine in the Unit with them all in but we have listed the closest ones here, directions to golf clubs are normally on orange signs;

Gramacho and Pinta Courses;

Owned by Pestana these courses are next 2 each other and are 5 minutes drive from the Resort. Of average difficulty good for medium to high handicappers.

Vale De Milho;

This is a par 3 9 hole course which is good for the beginners and for taking the kids on for a couple of hours. Clubs can be rented and is not that difficult most holes playing a wedge or 7 iron at most. On the road towards Benagil from the town centre.

Silves;

Another course owned by Pestana, similar to Gramacho, worth playing and for holiday golf decent value. Head back to the motorway and carry on towards Silves town

Oceanico Faldo/O’Connor courses;

Next to the A22,close to Silves, these are 2 top end courses which charge top end prices. Clubs taken as you arrive and cleaned etc so very slick. Courses still maturing but can be demanding for a mid handicapper. Worth playing if you can get a deal.

Morgado/Almos;

About 3 junctions down from the A22 motorway, these are 2 good value courses which normally have a deal on for 2 + buggy for approx €95

Penina Championship Course;

Out towards Alvor, this is a top quality course, flat and previously home of the Portugese Open. Slightly more expensive but worth it! Very flat so you don’t need a buggy.

Palmares;

Close to Alvor and has a mix of parkland and links type holes next to the beach. Has been going some refurbishment work for the past 18 months so should be in good condition with 3 x 9 hole loops. Reasonably demanding for any standard of player.

Boavista;

Situated at the turning to Luz, built next to an Emmerson development. Quite hilly (you need a buggy) but well kept and worth trying if you have done the ones closer.

Salgados;

Going back towards Albuferia on the EN125 road this is a course below sea level and has water on 17 holes! Nice clubhouse and well established course. Take lots of balls!
